Open Apology to All of My Former Writing Teachers:

Dear Countless Teachers Whose Names Escape me,

I want to extend an apology you’ll never see in regards to writing an outline as a guide for setting your essays, stories, etc.

Not once did I write one, not once did I turn one in even if it counted towards my grade, not once did I give you an answer that wasn’t cocky and full of post-adolescent arrogance.

Today, years after I last dropped out of college, I decided to write an outline to help me wth the flow of upcoming blog posts. And you know what? For as scattered as I am, it truly helped.

So thank you, nagging educators, for once I see the reason behind your antiquated methods.
